  • Tim Balatsoukas

    Director of Coaching

    License:  NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, Greek FA License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, USSF National Youth License; KIDSAFE Certified


    Currently Coaching: Players/teams from Jr. Academy (3-10 years old) through High School boys and girls.


    Experience:  Tim has coached both US Youth and European Youth Soccer for the past 20 years.


    Education:Tim graduated from Judson University with a double B.A. major degree in Business Marketing and Management.


    Playing Experience: Tim arrived in the United States in 2004 having played professionally in Greece for five years from 1998-2003.  Tim was a four year starter for Judson University, four time NCCAA National Champions.  As a player he earned a number of honors including Top 3 Leading Points Scorer twice, was named to All-Regional and All-Area Teams, Team Captain and was named to the 2006 All-Illinois State Team.


    Tim started CSA in June 2014. He has worked as a Technical Director and Director of Soccer Operations at various clubs in the area including Coerver Coaching.

  • Daniel Hernandez

    Technical Director of Coaching

    License: USSF National  “D” License; KIDSAFE Certified


    Currently Coaching: Players/teams from U12 - High School boys and girls.


    Experience: Daniel has coached extensively throughout Spain and Australia including two years at the Barcelona Summer Camps.  He has been the head coach for teams U8-U14 boys and girls at various clubs in the Chicagoland area for the last several years.


    Education: Daniel holds a BA in Sports Education from the Autonomous University of Madrid and is a Royal Spanish Football Federation Certified Physical Trainer.


    Playing Experience: Daniel is a former Spanish professional soccer player and Certified Physical Trainer.  He played forward for Real Madrid’s youth categories for ten years, during which time the team qualified for the National League in all categories.  During this time he had the opportunity to play in tournaments across Europe from age U8-U18. He played for Rayo Vallecano for one year and with Club Deportivo Guadalajara for seven years.


    Daniel joined CSA in the Summer of 2015.

  • Tony Duffy

    Travel Coach

    License:  USSF National A License, UEFA  A License, ASF A License, ,USSF National Youth License; KIDSAFE Certified


    Currently Coaching: High School Boys and Girls 


    Experience: Illinois Youth Soccer Coach of the Year, Tony has coached US, European and Australian Youths soccer for the past 25 years. He has attained the highest coaching accreditation from three different continents. Former Coaching Education Instructor for IYSA. Has coached National championship winning teams.


    Education: University of Dundee, UK (MBA)


    Playing Experience: Captain of Scotland National team (u18). Captain of Celtic Boys Club (5 National Championships). 


    Former professional player Scotland/Australia (retired injured after 10 years) Hibernian/ Montrose /Brisbane.

  • Brenden Berry

    Travel Coach

    License: NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Youth Club Administrator Diploma, USSF "E" License, Positive Coaching Alliance Certified, KIDSAFE Certified


    Currently Coaching: Jr. Academy boys/girls (ages 3-10) and Youth Boys Teams (U8-U14)


    Experience: Chairman, Director of Soccer Operations and Staff Coach- Glen Ellyn Park District/Glen Ellyn Lakers FC (2009-2014), Operations Manager and Staff Coach- San Jose Earthquakes Youth Club (2015-2016)


    Education: Bachelor of Sports Management- Ohio University

  • Va Shon Watkins

    Travel Coach

    License: USSF “C” License, USC Director of Coaching Diploma, KIDSAFE Certified,

    Coaching Experience: He has coached 10 kyears in Illinois with clubs all across the

    greater Chicagoland area in Alithsa, Carol Stream Panthers, Palatine Celtic, Waukegan

    HOTC, Orland Park Vortex and Assistant Men's Coach at Elgin Community College.

    Was the interim Director of Coaching with Waukegan HOTC. Has coached all levels of

    soccer from grass roots U3 - U19 and college.

  • Sanon Eustache

    Travel Coach

    License: USSF NATIONAL “E” License; KIDSAFE Certified. 


    Coaching Experience:  Sanon has coached for the Indiana Invaders for 2 years as the head coach of the U9 and U14 boys’ teams but has been involved in coaching for over 5 years in the Midwest.


    Education: Judson University with B.A. in Business Administration, Management concentration. Hold an MBA with a double major in Finance and Leadership & Change Management from DePaul University.


    Playing Experience: Played 3 years at Judson University. Was a part of Judson's fourth-straight CCAC and NAIA Region VII Championships. Helped Judson to their 5th straight CCAC Tournament Championship and NAIA National Tournament. Earned the best Sportsmanship and Character of the year award. Participated in 3 Conference Championships, 2 Regional Championships and 1 National Championship.


    Joined CSA in the fall of 2021.

  • Brooke Bean

    Travel Coach

    Experience: Brooke is a lifelong soccer player. Brooke has 15 years experience coaching youth soccer summer camps as well as recently coaching her own sons in recreational soccer in the Tri-Cities area. KIDSAFE Certified


    Education: Brooke graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She continued her education at Northwestern Graduate School and has her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.


    Playing Experience: Brooke grew up playing many sports, soccer always her favorite. She grew up in Wheaton, IL and played for the Wheaton Wings. She played 4 years of Varsity soccer (and basketball and cross-country) for Wheaton-Warrenville South HS before continuing her career at the Division I level for Northwestern University. Brooke holds several Top 5 Rankings in Northwestern’s program:


    1st -- Leading Scorer in a Single Season 1998 and 1999

    4th -- Most Goals in a Career (20)

    4th -- Most Points in a Career (51)

    5th -- Most Game Winning Goals in a Season (3 in 1998)

    Brooke joined CSA in the Summer of 2015. She lives in Geneva with her husband, TJ, and their three boys.

    Experience: Kopion Football Club 2010-2013; Aurora Central Catholic High School Head Girls Varsity Coach 2010, 2011, Wheaton Academy Varsity Assistant Coach 2012-2019, Wheaton Academy Head Varsity Coach 2020-present. 2016 IHSA Class A State Champions, 2021 IHSA Class A 3rd Place

    Education:Graduated from West Aurora Highschool. Currently attending Waubonsee Community College.


    Playing Experience: 2x regional futsal champion and National futsal finalist. 3 year varsity player at West Aurora Highschool. Conference champions, regional champions, and All-conference. Played for the Waubonsee Men's soccer team. 2x All-ISCC First team & 2x All-Region IV team.

  • Flynn Collins

    Currently Coaching: Players/teams from junior academy (3-10 years old) boys & girls.


    Experience: Two years coaching for the Cedar Rapids Rampage Academy and 3 years coaching at CSA.


    Education: Graduated from Marmion Academy in 2014, and then graduated from Loras College with a bachelor's in Sports Management and a bachelor's in Business Management in 2019.


    Playing experience: Club soccer at TCSA and Campton United. 


    College soccer at Simpson College and Loras College.


    Semi-professional soccer at Chicago Inferno in the PDL, and both Cedar Rapids Rampage United and Aurora Borealis SC in the UPSL.


    Professional soccer stints both in Sweden and Brazil.
